Nirmala Thilak Perera

It is with deep regret that we record the passing away of Nirmala Thilak Perera, affectionately known as N.T.

He joined S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia in 1945 and left in 1957. While at school he actively participated in the extra-curricular activities of the College. He was a Cadet Sergeant and later promoted as the Company Sergent Major.

He represented the College in many sports including Tennis, Hockey, Athletics and miniature Rifle shooting. He was also a Prefect of the College.

After leaving College N.T. joined the mercantile sector. However before long, he started his own firm, which work he did till quiet recently.

N. T. became the Secretary of the Parent Teacher Association and organized many fund raising projects for the College.

he was an active member of the Old Thomian’s Swimming Club, where he held the post of President.

a founder member of the Old Boy’s Centenary Group in which he was the Secretary for many years.

He was a member of the Lions Club of Moratuwa.

We convey our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Mala and their two sons, Ruwan and Arun.
